چکیده
The infiltration casting fabrication process based on spherical CaCl2 space-holders and the compressive behavior including mechanical performance energy absorption capacity of open-cell aluminum foams were investigated. Open-cell with different porosities in range 63.1% to 87.3% can be fabricated by adjusting compression ratios preforms prepared precision hot-pressing. tests show that a strain-hardening phenomenon always occurs especially for foam low porosity, resulting inclining stress-strain curve plateau region. decreases increasing porosity when compared at same strain. However, given stress, each absorb maximal among five special stress range. Additionally, possesses maximum efficiency its optimum operating stress. At this condition, highest other point. corresponding decrease porosity. also determined similarly taking into consideration lightweight extent foams.

متن کاملCompressive Behavior and Microstructural Characteristics of Iron Hollow Sphere Filled Aluminum Matrix Syntactic Foams
Iron hollow sphere filled aluminum matrix syntactic foams (AMSFs) were produced by low pressure, inert gas assisted infiltration. The microstructure of the produced AMSFs was investigated by light and electron microscopy, extended by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and electron back-scattered diffraction. The investigations revealed almost perfect infiltration and a slight gradient in the ...
